Indications: sterk vermoeden op- of bewezen cefalosporine-en meropenem-allergie of een eerdere ernstige 'delayed type' allergie op een ß-lactam antibioticum

Vancomycine (zie "middelen" voor aanpassen aan nierfunctie en gewicht) iv loading dose 20mg/kg, 40mg/kg continuous per 24 hours

General comments

Het toevoegen van aminoglycosiden wordt NIET aanbevolen

Behandelduur 14 dagen bij ongecompliceerde S. aureus bacteriëmie, bij gecompliceerde S. auereus bacteriëmie behandelduur 4-6 weken
